Small Classroom Advantage
Student-to-Teacher Ratio = 6:1
Score Academy, our private school, offers you its Small Classroom Advantage. We strive to maintain a 6:1 (or lower) student:teacher ratio in core academic classes. Team taught by seasoned teachers, our students thrive in personalized surroundings: each one discovers, analyzes, questions, and learns.
Effective learning strengthens self-confidence – our students can’t wait to return to Score Academy for another school year!
Teachers customize the curriculum to the needs of the students in a classroom. We work on mastery of fundamentals that may be glossed over in a larger classroom setting. That focus on fundamentals defines one of the most important qualities of our Small Classroom Advantage.
The Score Academy Advantage
Parents enroll their children at Score Academy because they want the best education, one that completely engages students in a small classroom where teacher mentoring is emphasized. Families also come to us to accelerate the education of their children, who learn more quickly in a small class setting. Bored in a large classroom, they may need more individual attention or a more challenging curriculum in order to stay on track and make progress.
Score At The Top’s schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) and AdvancED. Our AP courses and teachers are certified by the College Board, our core academic courses are accepted by the NCAA Eligibility Center, and we accept the McKay Scholarship
The School Focus
The 5 R’s. We employ a strong core subject approach that demands critical thinking and emphasizes oral and written communication. - Reading: comprehension and fluency
- wRiting: sentences, paragraphs, essays, research papers; note-taking and study skills
- aRithmetic: regular, honors, and AP courses – with attention to filling gaps in foundational math skills
- Reasoning: critical thinking applied to all subjects
- Relating: interdisciplinary teaching and learning

We possess a passion for teaching coupled with a thorough understanding of our subjects, expert study skills, and effective communication skills. Because our learning community relies as much on our outgoing personalities as it does on our academic expertise, you’ll find that our enthusiasm for teaching and learning is contagious. We truly engage a student in the learning process.
No matter whether your student has a successful academic track record, or has struggled with schoolwork, we’ve got the personalities and resources to help, and we are proud of how we adapt our teaching to address each student’s needs and to do what it takes to achieve your educational goals.
Parent Communication
Your child’s teachers will prepare class recaps on a daily basis; these are reviewed by the Head of School and then emailed to you. Each recap will contain a summary of the material covered, the student’s level of understanding, the homework grade from the previous day and the next homework assignment, as well as a rating of the student's energy, preparation, and progress.
Score Academy issues report cards on a quarterly basis and an official transcript at the end of each school year. Teacher conferences are scheduled each semester, and the Head of School is available at any time to discuss your child's progress. Parent-Teacher Days are scheduled each semester.
