Therapeutic Placement Clients

I want to thank you for your help and support throughout the time that we were considering what to do once we learned of our daughter’s problems. We are also grateful for your support while she was at Second Nature.

Second Nature is nowhere near the end of the line for her. We have her in ongoing therapy with a local expert on attachment theory and therapy. We have an appointment for our first family therapy session. She knows and we as a family know that this will be a long and sometimes very challenging process.

There are two things from Second Nature that I want to highlight. First, according to our daughter, their field staff is amazing. She learned things about the wilderness that she will never forget. She speaks so highly of the team of professionals that guided them from place to place, taught them skills, and helped them navigate their surroundings as well as interact with each other. Second, Kathy Donovan was the right therapist in the right place at the right time. Say what you want to about Second Nature as a program, working with Kathy was worth everything. She was so helpful for our daughter and so helpful for us.

Many thanks again to you, for your advice, insights, and support. We will highlight your work to others when appropriate, including telling our daughter’s therapist locally about the work you do.

Please stay in touch. We will do so, too.

Blessings for a happy and healthy start to 5776!

Dear Judi & Marcy,

I don't know how to thank you all enough for the care, support and concern you have shown our family through the most difficult time of our lives. We had a troubled, runaway, substance-abusing adolescent who needed critical intervention, and needed it fast. With a court order in hand we had sheriff deputies pick her up, and she was held at a Juvenile Assessment Center while you all worked a miracle. Not only did you know exactly what our 16 year old daughter needed, you knew which therapist (thank you Tracy) and which wilderness program would best help her.

When we saw our daughter in Utah for our parent visit, we could not believe the transformation. It was clear to us that inner change had occurred in Taylor. She was "invited" to participate at Outback, given appropriate therapeutic work to do by Tracy, taught new outdoor survival skills by the wonderful field instructors, and was given the gift of leadership when she was ready. Exponential emotional growth happened in only 10 weeks. To us it is a miracle, and we certainly prayed a lot!

Taylor has been at her therapeutic boarding school in Montana for almost 8 weeks thus far. We know she will likely be there for 18 months. We have learned that our daughter suffers from an anxiety disorder, depression and a learning disorder. But she now can advocate for herself, and she knows that her mind needs to relearn healthy habits. She values herself, and is working hard on achieving her goals. We sometimes cry together on our weekly Skype calls ― not out of sadness, but because THIS WORK IS HARD. We are taking one day at a time, but we now know we are headed in the right direction.

Thank you for saving our daughter's life, and for giving our family the tools we need to move forward.

With Sincere Gratitude,

Renee and Greg

Well my life was forever changed once I met you. Of course, as you know, it was changed for the GOOD!!! You have helped make, what is the hardest decision for a family to make, less painful. I can't tell you how many people from the schools I've spoken with, speak so highly of you. Everybody tells us how lucky we are to have you as an advocate.....I ALWAYS tell them we have the BEST!!!

Continuing to thank you.....

(mom of 2 great boys placed in wilderness & therapeutic boarding schools)

I just wanted to send you an email to let you know how much gratitude I have for you being so insistent that my boys be paired with Bridger at Pacific Quest. Bridger has been a blessing to my family.

This past week, Bridger spent a lot of time talking with me and helping me. I was feeling so unsettled about a lot of issues regarding Matthew (since the Parent Program) and I needed to be in constant contact with him (probably a big pest). But he was there for me. Not only did we have our weekly scheduled session, but he made time to speak with me three more times after that. We had a lot going on and Bridger listened, gave suggestions, and together we were able to help Matthew have an amazing breakthrough. I believe that I even had one as well!! There is now a bright light in Matthew's future and I am more thankful than ever. Not only did Bridger spend extra time with Matthew yesterday (two sessions) and help guide him to this breakthrough, but he told him that he would be proud to be his dad. He didn't need to tell him that. I believe in my heart that he means it. I believe in my heart that Matthew feels it. In all honesty...My Heart is Full!!! Not only did he give Matthew extra TLC this week, but he gave it to me as well. There was so much that I needed to say and Bridger listened to every word (and I can assure you I spoke a LOT of words)!!! I love when he says, "Yeah...That makes sense. I get that. Thanks for sharing that with me". It just makes me feel validated. He is very special and I will be sad when he will no longer be my boys therapist. I can't imagine finding another "Bridger" out there in the big world of Therapy. They broke the mold when they made him.

Both Jordan and Matthew love Bridger as a mentor, friend, role model, and father figure. How lucky are they!!! How lucky am I!!!

I am a big believer in letting people know how I feel when I truly believe in them. Working with all of you has been life changing. There aren't enough "Thank You's" that I could say. There aren't enough words to tell you how blessed I really feel. I am honored to have you all taking this journey with us.

I am forever grateful.

A thank you for the wilderness therapist – and Judi Robinovitz’s guidance:

I wanted to first thank you for all of the work you did with Sari. Your devotion and care for Sari is evident by how much growth we saw in Sari during the last 2 months and how Sari speaks of you. We are lucky that Judi found you and we are lucky there are people in this world who devote themselves to teens who are struggling.

I picked Sari up at her gate on Wednesday morning. The time I spent with Sari was amazing and I enjoyed being with her so much. When I ask Sari about wilderness and her experience, she provides such detail and such clarity. I know this was a life changing experience for her and I know you and the rest of the staff there really "reached" Sari.

We took Sari to her therapeutic boarding school on Thursday afternoon. Of course Sari was somewhat nervous and emotional, but she handled it like a champion. We talked to the Head of School for a while and he and Sari really bonded. Sari met her therapist and really liked her too. The girls at school warmly greeted Sari and I think she will really benefit from their program and I feel she will enjoy herself at the same time. Sari has 2 roommates - one who started a Poetry Slam team for the school and Sari was really excited about that.

I just cannot express to you how much I appreciate all you have done for Sari. I can assure you that none of us will ever forget you!

Judi, I am also happy if any parent needs references to speak to them.

We have our daughter back! We did the wilderness transition ceremony, she is fantastic, we will never be able to thank you enough- it’s a miracle in the making- her eyes are shining again- she is real and beautiful and so looking forward to La Europa. She loves you and can't wait to see you when she is finished with everything. I will call you when I return. Thanks again for everything

N, T, and A

You are a passionate professional, and we appreciate your efforts while we try to come to grips with what appears to be the inevitable.

Regards CB

Thank you Thank you Thank you Judi! Living in the Middle East, I thought I wasn't going to get anyone at the school this early in the morning, and my son was waiting at the gate in London to leave for Chicago. He's already been traveling for hours. I don't like this time difference thing at all LOL!! Thank you again for everything! You are the most reliable person I have ever met!

I want to take a moment to thank you for everything you have done for Brittany and our family through very trying times!!! You guided us perfectly !!!!!

Brittany has chosen the University of New Mexico and has been offered and accepted a Teaching Assistant position and start her Master program in July. They offered her a great package and she is very excited :-) New Mexico is part of her heritage as an Isleta Indian, and the reservation is south of Albuquerque.  It just happens they are potters that focus on Kachina Dolls. There Is a large family component in all of New Mexico for Brit. This is the absolutely perfect school and location for her. And she is soooooo  excited. She is going to teach Intro to Ceramics at UNM starting in August. Brittany was also accepted this year to thee other fine universities for her Masters in Fine Arts:

Without your sound advice and incredible knowledge of how to help troubled kids, she wouldn’t be the great success and well-rounded young lady she has become.

A moment in time to look at what you helped us thru:

Randolph Macon Academy

The Bolles School

Eagle Ridge Academy

Coral Shores High School

Miami Childrens Hospital

Provo Canyon School

New Haven School – Graduated after 18 months

Oakley School – Graduated High School

Savannah College of Art & Design

University of the Arts – Graduated with her BFA and was Senior Student of the Year

University of New Mexico -- Master's in Fine Arts!

You have done a wonderful job of guiding us and we sincerely Thank You…..:-)

At Thanksgiving, I just wanted to say "Thank You" for all you did to help us and Josh to get to the point where he is. He is now in upper school and loving every minute of it. His grades are As and Bs with an occasional high C, now and then. He busts his ass to try to make honor roll, as part of an agreement Grant made with him. He actually prioritizes to get his work done on time! He is enjoyable to talk to and has just started on weekly phone calls. He is a new person and has actually said he's proud of himself, for the first time in his life.

On this Thanksgiving my family has so much to be Thankful for. Josh being at Carlbrook and accepting Carlbrook is number one! You deserve the best for all that you do for families like mine. Thank you!

With eternal love and gratification,

Thanks for the info and for all your wonderful help with our kids. I have been really impressed with the wilderness program Cathy went through. I think it really helped her at an important crossroads time in her life that she will always remember. We would never have found it without your help and advice. I really appreciate that my husband hired you, I think it was an excellent decision and your advice has been well worth the money. God bless you and your business.
