Educational Consultant Judi Robinovitz

Judi Robinovitz is a Certified Educational Planner with more than 30 years of experience in education. Specializing in educational counseling, she is the author of numerous books, articles, and software on test preparation and college planning. Robinovitz has been a featured speaker at national educational conferences and schools. To keep pace with current educational trends, Robinovitz continually travels across America to assess colleges, boarding schools, and emotional growth programs.

During her tenure at Educational Testing Service, Robinovitz served as technical liaison to the College Board, the Law School Admission Council, and the Graduate Record Examination Board. She spearheaded the College Board's SAT prep software and made major contributions to their test preparation books. Frequently taking the SAT, Robinovitz scored a perfect 800 on all three sections of the SAT.

Consulting to two private schools in Boca Raton, Yeshiva High School and Donna Klein Jewish Academy, Robinovitz created their college guidance programs and served as Director of College Guidance to the first five graduating classes of each school.

As an active member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association, the National Association for College Admission Counseling, and the Secondary School Admission Test Board, Robinovitz is part of a professional network of admission directors, educators, psychologists and other educational consultants. She is also a member of the National Learning Disabilities Association and the Orton Dyslexia Society.

Robinovitz studied at Harvard University, Rutgers University, and the University of Connecticut. She holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science, both with highest honors. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

LeAnn Elder photoLeAnn Elder

LeAnn Elder is the Center Director and Head of School in our Boca Raton location. She is a licensed architect with an extensive educational background — a B.S. from The University of Virginia and a Master's in Architecture from Harvard University. She studied abroad in Vicenza, Italy, while at UVA. At both UVA and Harvard, LeAnn was chosen for a variety of Teaching Assistantships, including a unique opportunity to teach an architecture program to middle school girls. As a result, she went on to design and teach a summer architecture program for high school students while attending Harvard. Her passion for teaching led to community service projects, which included introducing inner-city children to architecture with the help of the Baltimore City Arts Council. Since arriving in Florida, she has taught at FAU, and has passed her Florida teaching exams for all middle school subjects, high school math, technology, and health.

As an architect, LeAnn designed a house that was featured in a magazine (an extraordinary, contemporary design, one into which the Robinovitz family could easily move!) and has worked for firms in both Maryland and Florida. Her background in architecture accounts for her attention to detail and ability to make certain that disparate pieces come together to form a unified whole, no matter what the scale.

Beyond her own lifelong commitment to education and extracurricular activities, including her current interests in playing the piano and lifting weights, she is a mother of two who loves mentoring her own children. Her two boys are in an elementary school gifted program. They love to learn, play the piano and swim competitively on a swim team. Motherhood for LeAnn brought a shift of emphasis from the computer-dominated world of architecture to those qualities that touched on what she was truly passionate about — education and children.

LeAnn comes to Score at the Top with an enthusiasm to succeed and a strong belief in our mission. She loves to talk to people and prides herself on her ability to effectively communicate with people and listen to their needs. As a self-proclaimed "born leader," she sought the Director position to fulfill her desire to challenge herself to use her skills. Whether it was managing projects as an architect, designing her own curriculum as a teacher, or becoming Chair of Manalapan's Architectural Commission, she has always felt that she could best serve the task at hand from a leadership standpoint.

As Director/Head of School, LeAnn will serve as your gateway to success: thoroughly discussing your student's needs (including teachers' input, if appropriate), creating a goal-driven support plan, and carefully matching your student to the appropriate tutor(s)/teacher(s) based on learning style and personality. LeAnn oversees our professional teaching staff, working collaboratively with our parents, students, and teachers to ensure top-quality service to our client families.

Educational Consultant Cathy Bicksler

As the Center Director and Head of School in our Palm Beach Gardens and West Palm Beach locations, Cathy brings a unique set of skills and life experiences to educating children. With a BS in Accounting from Bowling Green State University, she started her professional career as a cost accountant for Goodyear. However, after marrying and giving birth to the first of her seven children, Cathy made a 20-year career change to become a "homeschool mom" to her ever growing family. While teaching all her children throughout their school years. Cathy also took many educational seminars, including curriculum choice and customization, project design, critical thinking, motivation, and making learning "delight-directed." Cathy guided her four oldest children through their successful college-application process and is excited about following suit with her three youngest. She is truly passionate about children and education.

Before coming to Score At The Top, Cathy taught middle-school math and art at Marathana Christian Academy. Drawing heavily on her 20+ years of helping her own and other children, Cathy has an incredible knack for matching students to tutors. She spends a great deal of time in conversation with parents to analyze their children’s learning styles, identify their academic-support needs, and develop a plan for success. She also works closely with our homeschool families in curriculum design, course scheduling, and enrichment planning.

Cathy’s close contact with our tutors and teachers is a daily event in Palm Beach Gardens and West Palm. She regularly discusses the most effective teaching techniques, the use of supplementary materials, and creativity in sessions; she also organizes the curricula and schedules for all enrolled students in both locations. Keeping in touch with local schools is another dimension of her position; in addition to setting up test-prep workshops and college-planning seminars on their campuses, she organizes AP review sessions, summer-school classes, and courses for academic credit in the Palm Beach Gardens and West Palm Beach locations.

Cathy takes great pride in helping parents, students, tutors/teachers, and schools work together as partners in education!
