Florida State released their final freshman decisions last Wednesday after the close of school. Director of Admissions Janice Finney explained that the school deferred more students in December than in the past, so more students received final decisions. Of those deferred in December, students who did not provide mid-year grades were not reconsidered.

This year’s accepted freshman profile...

GPA: 3.9-4.4
SAT: 1780-1980
ACT: 27-31

GPA: 3.6-4.2
SAT: 1690-1870
ACT: 24-28

All applicants met FSU’s minimum sub-score requirement, 51% earned all A’s and B’s, 86% had an accelerated curriculum (honors/AP/IB/AICE/dual enrollment), and 52% had calculus. Overall, this year’s class had a slightly higher GPA profile (3.8-4.3) than last year’s (3.7-4.2) while test scores remaining constant.

Back in January, 1,100 students were accepted.
