Application Essays that get you Admitted

typewriter - rawpixel-623442-unsplashApplication essays are the most challenging part of the application process – and our webinar can help students make that task easier, guiding them to write stronger, compelling essays that improve their chances for college admission. And, with fewer distractions this summer, students can actually complete and submit many applications before senior year begins in August!

While a student’s academic record and test scores are the most important factors that colleges consider, a student’s essay serves to differentiate the student from the rest of the application pool. College admission officers look for a student’s genuine voice that a GPA and test scores cannot reveal. A student’s essays can make or break an application.

During our webinar, you'll learn:

  • Why application essays are more important than ever
  • How to brainstorm essay ideas
  • The do’s and don’ts of application essay writing
  • Jump starting your application essays – NOW
  • Whether to write about COVID-19
  • What makes an essay exceptional — from essays that really worked

SAT vs. ACT: Which is the best test for me?

Your SAT or ACT score is the second most important factor in college admissions. Since colleges treat the SAT and ACT as equals, you must make the important decision whether to use the coming months to prepare for the SAT, the ACT, or both.

Of recent importance are the significant changes to the SAT which have left many families more confused than ever. Rumors abound that the new SAT is a more difficult test than it used to be – which makes the ACT appear to be the more desirable test.

More familiar with the SAT “brand,” the majority of families who seek our services assume that the SAT will be the best assessment for their children. Most parents personally endured the rite of sitting for an older version of the SAT during high school. Additionally, they know how their children fared on the redesigned PSAT.

The ACT, on the other hand, remains a mystery for many. The majority of our students have had no exposure to the ACT. Many parents have heard of the ACT as an alternative to the SAT but don't know if it's worthwhile to make the investment in ACT preparation or simply stick it out with the SAT.

So if you want to end the confusion and pick the test that’s best for you, let us explain the differences between these two tests so that you can make the best-informed decision about which test to take.

You’re going to learn…

  • Precisely How These Tests Affect College Applications
  • Six Key Differences Between The Two Tests
  • To Essay, or Not to Essay
  • A Roadmap for Testing Success
